VICTORY AGAINST SURNE BILBAO BASKET

Básquet Girona overcame Bilbao Basket in an exciting last quarter and won against a very solid opponent (100-94).

The first minutes of the game were even, but a good individual attack and lost possession of the ball hurt in the first quarter (17-23). In the second quarter, the Basque team started very well, but a good half of Básquet Girona with a plugged-in Nike Sibande reduced the distance on the scoreboard (36-39).

Two three-pointers from Bilbao just after the start of the third quarter extended the visiting team’s advantage. The fans did not fail, helping the team to follow Surne Bilbao Basket throughout the scoreboard. (58-61)

In the last quarter, Girona took to the field determined to take the victory. Both teams focused more on offense than defense, with Durham with 22 points and Nike with 21 points taking the game to overtime. (88-88)

In the extra five minutes, Girona came out very hungry, where they were ahead at all times of the extension. The Girona team has proven to be a very solid team, in which Fontajau and the fans have given the level the team needed. The team with a great success in free throws, has reached 100 points (100-94).
