The Girona Basketball senior will travel to the Balearic Islands for the first time. The team trained by Quim Costa will fly to Maó to face Club Básquet Menorca at noon on Sunday (1 p.m.). This is a rival that, after a hesitant start, has been growing until it is placed third in the CA group of the EBA League (11-5), just behind Girona (second and 12-4).

The Menorcan team’s current performances are reflected in its records. Accumulates 9-1 in the last ten days – the defeat was on the court of the leader, Vive-El Masnou Basketball (75-66) -, links six consecutive triumphs on its court and is the team that receives the fewest points (68.7). In the first round match in Fontajau, 75-69 for the locals with 15 points from Xavi Costa. In that confrontation, Jan Orfila did not participate. The pivot, with six years of experience in LEB Or, has established himself as the benchmark of his team and his recent performances have made him the most valued of the group (24 on average), crediting 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds. Quite a challenge for Basketball Girona, which, for its part, has the best attack, with 78.9 points.
