A partial differential in the first half condemned Girona's fate (93-66)
The game started with a high pace of back and forth that Básquet Girona controlled with 10-17 after a basket by Juani Marcos that caused the rival timeout. Girona’s good dynamic was the prelude to Andorra’s good performance in both hoops, with a 34-6 run between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second that catapulted the local team to 21 points of advantage, reaching the locker room with 48-30 on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the team from Girona started better but the locals managed to adjust well in defense and counteract any intention of the visitors to cut distances. The reds were able to be eleven points behind but the triple did not come in. The Andorran team finished better and the final result was 93-66.
Fotis Katsikaris: “We were very good in the first seven minutes but games last forty minutes. We collapsed: we started attacking badly and gave them easy attacks.”
