Defined the coaching staff in the senior

Quim Costa and his work team will start training on Monday, August 21

Básquet Girona already has the senior coaching staff, which will compete this coming season in the EBA League. Quim Costa as coach will lead a working group made up of seven people and who have set the start of training for next Monday, August 21, in Fontajau.  

Costa will have as assistants Milo Nunes and  Jordi Moncanut Born in Cascais (Portugal), Nunes credits a dense career despite his 35 years. It coincided with Quim Costa in Unicaja when the Badaloní was second to Aíto in the first team and he worked in base basketball. Later, he was his assistant in Huesca, in LEB Or (2014/15). He has also worked in Badalona Youth and in countries such as Ukraine and the United States. His last experience was in Andorra, where he managed the absolute women’s team and MoraBanc’s subsidiary, in the EBA League. Moncanut, 44 years old and a native of Figueres, has been involved in two stages as coach at Sant Narcís, where he has managed the first team for the last three seasons. The last, in the Catalunya Cup where he achieved permanence. Before that, he had also been at L’Escala (Catalan 2nd) and Sant Josep Girona, where he was junior coach and also senior assistant, in EBA (2012/13).  

Jorge Abruñedo , 26 years old, will be the physical trainer. A native of A Coruña, he has been linked to the Galician CB Culleredo in recent years. Last season, he was in charge of the physical preparation of his junior and first team, which ended up being promoted to EBA. The physiotherapist will be  Jesus Almazán . With very recent experiences in the United States and Australia, Almazán, born 26 years ago in Girona, also joins the coaching staff of Basketball Girona.

The task of team manager  will be in charge of Oriol Ribas . It will be the third season of the 26-year-old from Bescanón at the club. In the two previous seasons, he had been assistant to the U15 and U16. He also continues in the club  doctor Jordi Sitjà . Born in Badalona 56 years ago, he has been in charge of the sports medicine center in Girona since 1993 and previously worked with Girona FC and CB Girona during the Akasvayu stage.
