FIATC Girona was unable to stop Río Breogán’s offensive success in a match in which the home team dominated the score from the first few minutes. The difficulties in containing the Galician offensive game and the great success from long distance allowed Breogán to gradually open up the gap until reaching the break with a score of 61-41. Despite the Girona team’s attempts to react, the home team maintained control of the match until closing the match with a score of 115-92.
With Breogán pressing from the start, FIATC Girona held on with five consecutive points from Sergi and 2+1 from Mac (10-8). The Galicians began to hurt from long range, and it was not until after a timeout from Moncho that Girona’s reaction came, with a 2-9 run that made it 25-20. However, the good dynamics of the home team allowed them to close the first quarter with a 30-22 lead. In the second period, Breogán continued to hurt from the perimeter, with nine three-pointers out of seventeen attempts, a success that allowed them to widen the gap to 61-41 at halftime.
FIATC Girona tried to close the gap in the second half with Jassel Pérez and Pep Busquets, who scored from the perimeter, but Breogán responded again to maintain the lead. The Girona team looked for offensive alternatives with Mac McClung and managed to score more consistently, but the home team continued to punish and closed the third quarter with a 20-point lead. In the final period, Breogán maintained the scoring pace and gradually extended the lead, with Francis Alonso as the main offensive leader, with 27 points. Despite FIATC Girona’s final attempts, with three-pointers from Mac and Sergi Martínez and the actions of Jassel Pérez, the home team ended up winning 115-92.
