FIATC Girona plays today the second day of the FIBA Europe Cup on the Coretec Oostende court. The duel, which will be played at 20:30 in Oostende (Belgium), will pit two teams that started the competition with a victory and will seek to maintain the good momentum in this European start. The match can be followed live on the 3Cat platform.
Coretec Oostende defeated Patrioti Levice 69-76 at home in the first round, in a game they controlled from start to finish. Konstantin Kostadinov stood out for the Belgian team, with 15 points, 8 rebounds and a rating of 21. Guard Stephan Swenson also played an important role, adding 13 points, while forward Moussa Sylla contributed 9 rebounds and 18 rating.
Moncho Fernández highlighted the European trajectory and potential of the Belgian team: “It is a club that competes in European competition every year, often the Basketball Champions League (BCL). They are a very good team, one of the best, if not the best, in Belgium. They tend to sign good young North American players and they also have players who know the ACB well, like Kostadinov, a former player for Tenerife and Andorra.”
For its part, FIATC Girona also opened the competition with a victory, after overcoming Dinamo Bucharest by 87 to 75. In this way, both teams reach the second match with the same points, although the average places the Girona team in first position in the group and the Belgians in third. Today’s match will be a new opportunity to continue adding to their European path.
