| Friday, 28 April 2023

The 30th Matchday of the Endesa ACB League will face Gran Canària and Básquet Girona at the Gran Canaria Arena. The two sets come to the duel with the aim of securing the Play-off and permanence respectively.

Gran Canaria, coached by Jaka Lakovic, currently occupies 7th place in the classification, in the Play-off zone with a record of 17 wins and 12 losses. The Canaries arrive at the clash after losing in the league against Barça, but strengthened after having qualified for the Eurocup final, in an interweekly duel they won against Joventut.

On the other hand, Basketball Girona will travel to the Canary Islands after winning in Fontajau in a direct duel against Covirán Granada. Aíto García Reneses continue to occupy 14th place in the standings, with a margin of 2 wins compared to relegation, and with the point in favor of having the average won with the Grenadines. The white-and-reds will face Gran Canaria after recovering their best version last day, and will look to continue with these good feelings.

The match will be played on Sunday, April 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gran Canaria Arena. The match can be followed on dial 61 of Movistar Deportes 3.

STATEMENTS:

Maxi Fjellerup: “Having this margin with respect to relegation gives you comfort to be able to play at your best level. We have to focus on each game and keep improving week after week until the end of the season.”

“It’s been my first year at ACB and my second in Spain, it’s been a new change with a higher pace of play and physicality, very different to LEB Oro, but little by little I’m getting used to it.”

Aíto García Reneses: “The goal must be to play well, and depending on how they are, have options for victory. The more minutes we play at the highest level, the higher the odds of winning.

“Gran Canària has many players with a very good shot. Pivots have a large wingspan and are very intimidating. On the other hand, they have four like Brussino with both outside and inside threat. They will play the final of the Eurocup and they are in a great moment.”
