Spar Girona | Sunday, 11 October 2026

SPAR Girona was unable to achieve its first victory of the season in Fontajau. After three quarters of maximum equality, in which the defenses prevailed over the attacks, Hozono Global Jairis ended up winning the duel in their favor by 48-64.

Girona started the game with difficulty and conceded an initial 0-8 that forced Roberto Íñiguez to call a timeout. The reaction came with a 0-6 run (highlighting Bulgak’s triple), which allowed them to close the gap, and the first quarter ended with a score of 15-18. In the second period, the defenses prevailed over the attacks, with Hozono Global Jairis looking to do damage under the basket and Girona responding to stay in the game. SPAR Girona equalized the score on several occasions and, 22 seconds before halftime, a triple by Tilbe Şenyürek put Girona ahead for the first time, before reaching the break with a tight 29-28.

In the second half, SPAR Girona maintained the tie in a third quarter in which the defenses prevailed and in which Iyana Martín had to retire injured. Marta García’s points under the basket allowed the Girona team to take the lead (41-39), but two final baskets by Hozono Global Jairis left the score at 41-43. In the last period, the visitors took advantage of the Girona team’s offensive difficulties to extend their lead, with Massey and Hill’s triples that made it 41-51. Despite Marta’s points and Carolina Guerrero’s triple, which reduced the gap to 46-55, Jairis opened up a gap again and turnovers in the final minutes prevented SPAR Girona from reacting, which ended up losing by 48-64.
