James Nnaji (Makurdi, 2004) is the new player for the first team of Bàsquet Girona, who arrives on loan from FC Barcelona, ​​where he has played the last two seasons. The 212cm-tall center joined FC Barcelona in 2020 from the Ratgeber Academy in Pecs, Hungary. During the 2020/21 season, he played for the junior team and made his debut for the LEB Plata team. The following season, he alternated between the junior team and the EBA League team. On January 9, 2022, he made his debut in the ACB league with FC Barcelona.

In these last two seasons with the FC Barcelona first team, the Nigerian player has played 61 games in the ACB and 38 in the Euroleague. The new member of the Girona team has achieved 64.9% in 2-point shots, grabbing an average of 2.2 rebounds in 8 minutes in the ACB.
