Jassel Pérez (San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, September 12, 2001) is a new player for FIATC Girona for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons. The 1.90-meter-tall guard arrives from Vaqueros de Bayamón, in the Puerto Rican league, after a season in which he competed in both the Primera FEB and the Endesa League.
Pérez began his professional career in the 2021/22 season with the Titanes del Licey, of the Dominican Republic’s LNB. The following season he began the course with the Capitanes de Ciudad de México, of the NBA G League, before moving on to the Spartans Distrito Capital of the Venezuelan league and returning to the Titanes to finish the campaign.
In the 2023/24 season he played in the Basketball Champions League Americas with Real Estelí of Nicaragua. Later, he returned to the Spartans Distrito Capital and finished the season again with the Titanes del Licey. In the 2024/25 season he repeated this path, alternating his participation between the Spartans and the Titanes.
In the 2025/26 season he signed for Coviran Granada, who loaned him to Grupo Alega Cantabria, of Primera FEB. During his time with the Cantabrian team he averaged 15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, with an average rating of 16.4.
In December 2025, Coviran Granada brought him back to the first team of the Endesa League. In the 23 games played, he averaged 11.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists, with a rating of 11.6, consolidating himself as one of the revelations of the competition.
After the season in the ACB ended, Pérez joined the Vaqueros de Bayamón, one of the most important clubs in Puerto Rico. In the nine games of the regular season, he recorded excellent averages of 21.4 points, 4 rebounds and 3.3 assists, with a rating of 21.2.
This past weekend, Pérez was crowned Puerto Rican league champion with the Vaqueros de Bayamón, after winning the best-of-seven series. In the 18 playoff games he has played, he has averaged 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
On the international stage, Jassel Pérez is an absolute international with the Dominican Republic national team. He made his debut on September 3, 2022 during the FIBA AmeriCup and, later, participated in the qualifying phases for the 2025 edition, in which the Dominican national team reached the quarterfinals.
He is also currently part of the national team in the American qualifying windows for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. In his five most recent international matches he has averaged 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists, with an average rating of 10.
“We are delighted that Jassel is joining the FIATC Girona family. We believe that he is a piece that we needed and that fits perfectly with our style of play. He has a natural talent, both physical and technical, and a physical exuberance that makes him a differential in the open field, especially when it comes to attacking the ring. In addition, he is a player with a very high motor, ideal for developing the type of basketball that we want to play. In defense, he is also capable of defending very well and is very proactive. Due to his size, he can steal a lot of balls, occupy a lot of space and, at the same time, help a lot in both offensive and defensive rebounding. He is a player in clear progression. He is young, he is 24 years old, and we have seen his evolution over the last two years. This is also one of the things that has convinced us. He is also a very humble player, who works very well and who has a great desire to grow and compete. For all this, we believe that he fits perfectly with our philosophy and our identity.”
