Lleida, first challenge

Fontajau will experience a historic Catalan derby in the first round of the two teams in the final four of LEB Or (18/06, 20:00h)

Básquet Girona begins a Final Four weekend in Fontajau and does so against ICG Força Lleida on Saturday (18/06, 20:00 h) in the semifinals of promotion to the ACB. In the two matches of the regular league, the team fell to Barris Nord, but achieved a victory at home thus sealing the presence in the play-off. Girona also achieved two wins in the two Catalan League duels in recent seasons. The people from Lleida arrive at the meeting having won the quarter-finals against Caceres in the fifth game.

The opponent that Jordi Sargatal’s team will face is a team that works very well in the offensive aspect. Lleida has a young team with players like Ignacio Rosa with a good outside shot or the point guard from Barça, Juani Marcos. The experience is provided by Michael Carrera, the most decisive player of his team and with a great mastery of the interior game. In the direction of the game we find Thomas Schreiner who accumulates many minutes in the ACB and also contributes a lot of notation.

Fans have the option of going to the fan zone located on the Fontajau grass esplanade on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 11pm. There will be bar service, food trucks, bar service and a children’s area. All set by a DJ with live music.
