Básquet Girona has started energetically on both sides of the court, with an initial 12-3 run in which it has marked territory in the first elections and in the match script. The team has dominated in the closing of the rebound (11 to 4) and in attack has managed to generate fluidity in circulation with continuity. Sàbat’s inning brought an addition, with two triples, which increased the lead to fifteen points (24-9).

The second period began with a significant local defensive intensity that marked the first part of the quarter (12-6) in the ten least offensive minutes of the match. In numbers, the superiority in field goals (13/32 from Girona to 7/28 from Aragon) and in rebounding (24 to 14). 

At the restart, an initial 17-7 extended the local advantage to thirty points (58-28) at the end of the period, after some good minutes from Gasol and Sevillano in the scoring section. The president left the track to a standing ovation with 19 points and a rating of 39 with five minutes remaining in front of the 3,000 fans who had gathered at the stadium. In the final stretch, the team exceeded the forty point advantage, concluding the game with a final basket by Jaume Sorolla (89-47).

Jordi Sargatal: “We started a little tense in the first two minutes but we were quite solid at the back and I think that from there we found each other and, a little bit from the defense, we were able to take that advantage in a game that the result seems comfortable but that the team has worked hard. We have been very solid at the back and in attack, we have found moments of more pace and more success, but in general I am happy with the effort we have made.”
