Marta García (16/02/2002) is a new player for Spar Girona for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The Sevillian player, who is 1.89 meters tall and plays in the pivot position, arrives from Azulmarino Mallorca Palma, where she has become one of the most promising players in the competition.

García has defended the shirt of the Balearic team excellently, achieving the championship and promotion to the LF Endesa. In this last campaign in the Challenge League, she has signed great records with an average of 13.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 18.6 rating per match, adding a total of 4 MVPs of the day. In addition, the pivot holds the absolute record for rating in the competition, achieving a rating of 49 after accrediting 34 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 recoveries, 2 blocks and 7 fouls received on the court of CB Santfeliuenc.

With her arrival, Spar Girona adds an interior profile with great power and rebounding ability. Marta García becomes the fifth addition to the club’s new sports project, after the already announced signings of Iyana Martín, Juana Camilión, Tilbe Şenyürek and Madison Conner.

His career

Started at CB Utrera and later trained at Segle XXI in the Women’s League 2, her great projection in the lower categories led her to become a regular with the Spanish youth teams. Her international achievements include the bronze medal at the U16 European Championship (where she was part of the ideal quintet) and the gold medal at the U18 3×3 World Championship, where she was chosen MVP of the tournament.

After her time in Catalonia, she made the leap to the United States to compete in the NCAA, where she first defended the colors of the Arizona Wildcats —with whom she even played in the national grand final— and, later, those of the Florida Atlantic Owls. On her return to Spain, the center played with Sevilla Femení in the Women’s League 2, a club from which she made the definitive leap to Mallorca.

Statements from Pere Puig, sports director:

“With the arrival of Marta we are signing a lifelong, dominant center who has been decisive for her team’s promotion. We are sure that she will not notice this change in category and will help us a lot. With her we gain many centimeters, corpulence, intimidation and many good movements from her back to the basket.”
