The U18s opened their winning record, the U16s repeated the feat and the U14s competed until the end

U18

Preferent’s junior team won in the last play of extra time (78-77). The team from Girona was particularly inspired in the game and in front of the basket in the first part of the game (48-38). However, in the resumption, the hospital team came close to the scoreboard from a solid defense and an effective response in attack. A basket in the last possession took the game to overtime, when Arnau Pérez, in the last gasp, determined Girona’s victory with a basket in the low post.

U16

The cadet team earned its second win in two games, this time on the UE Gaudi-Holmes Place A court (61-79). The team led by Arnau Sargatal and Enric Corominas went ahead of the scoreboard from the opening jump from a solid defense that allowed them to run on the counterattack. Despite the dominance in the rebound and the good circulation of the rival in the resumption, the choral and regular performance of the team did not leave room for revalidation.

U14

The U14 lost in their debut as a visitor at Catalana Occident Manresa A (69-56). The aggressiveness in attack and defense of the Manres group allowed the rival to take a seven-point lead, which the children’s team managed to cut in the second period, equalizing the intensity (28-26). In the third period, the control of the rhythm of the game did not fall to either team, who faced the last ten minutes with a score of 40-39. The opponent’s foreign success ended up tipping the balance in favor of the local team.
