SPAR Girona loses on the BC Montana 2003 track
The Girona team faced the trip to Bulgaria in complicated conditions, with a trip that was delayed by more than three hours and a rotation limited to only seven players. In addition, a power outage in the pavilion forced the match to be interrupted at a key moment in the match.

SPAR Girona was unable to add to their victory on the BC Montana 2003 court in the second round of the EuroCup Women, in a match marked by a power outage in the pavilion that forced the game to be interrupted with the score 63-62. When the match resumed, the Girona team took the lead (63-64), but the locals managed the final minutes better to end up winning by 82-73.
BC Montana 2003 started the game with more success from the outside and an intense defense, which allowed them to close the first quarter with a 25-17 lead after a three-pointer at the buzzer. In the second period, the home team extended their lead to the maximum difference of the game (27-17), but SPAR Girona reacted with points from Tilbe Şenyürek and Adut Bulgak to get back into the game. The Girona team adjusted their defense in the zone and took advantage of Montana’s mistakes in the outside shot to close the gap to 34 with a basket from Carolina Guerrero. However, the home team responded with a 7-0 run, before a three-pointer from Guerrero closed the first half with a 41-37 lead.
In the second half, SPAR Girona saw BC Montana 2003 extend their lead to 54-41, but the Girona team reacted with a great final stretch of the quarter, led by Queralt Casas, Juana Camilión and Tilbe Şenyürek, to come within just two points (61-59). In the last period, a three-pointer by Tilbe made it 63-62, at which point a power outage in the pavilion interrupted the match. When the game resumed, the Girona team took the lead (63-64), but the home team regained control and, with Kane as the protagonist, extended their lead to 76-67. Despite the final attempts by SPAR Girona, with a three-pointer by Carolina Guerrero, the points from Dimitrova and Wallen ended up tipping the match in BC Montana 2003’s favor by 82-73.
