The sports director, Pere Puig, showed his satisfaction with the configuration of the squad, explaining that “we are happy with how the team has turned out”, while also highlighting the group’s roadmap, highlighting that “it had to be a team with hunger, a desire to work and that grows more and more”.
Among the new faces, the return to Girona of Queralt Casas was one of the points of reference of the day. The Catalan escort explained the reasons for his signing: “I was very clear that I would return home. Having Roberto as a coach has an influence, he is the best coach I have ever had”. For his part, the winger Juana Camilión assessed the change of stage, highlighting that “after having played against, I finally like playing on the other side. The impression is very good and I want to play and have a good project”.
The new international additions agreed to highlight the welcome they received in the city and the structure of the organization. Madison Conner highlighted her initial adaptation, explaining that “my first impression is that it is a very professional club. I love the city and everyone has been very nice. We want to work every day, see how the team evolves and focus on ourselves to continue improving”. Along the same lines, the point guard Marija Lekovic pointed out that “I like the city and the professionalism of the club. I have only been here for a short time, so for the moment everything is perfect”.
With the group already underway in Fontajau, SPAR Girona continues its preparation under the direction of Roberto Íñiguez to face the first challenges of the pre-season.
