SPAR Girona visits Impulso 360 Estepona this Saturday, at 7 p.m., in the match corresponding to the sixth day of the LF Endesa. The Girona team currently occupies thirteenth position in the standings, with a balance of one win and four losses, in a start to the season conditioned by the team’s losses. For its part, the Andalusian team is sixth, with three wins and two losses. The Girona team reaches the commitment after adding an important European victory on the court of Rutronik Stars Keltern by 55 to 70 , in a match that demanded a great physical effort from the team.
About the opponent
Impulso 360 Estepona arrives at the event after achieving a great victory on the Movistar Estudiantes court by 52 to 70. The team led by César Aneas has started the competition with good feelings and has outstanding players in different positions. Among them is the experienced point guard Melisa Gretter, who records an average of 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game, and the forward Howard, with 9.4 points per game and a success rate of 53.8% in three-pointers.
It is also necessary to take into account the contribution of the outside Watts, with 9.8 points per game, and the inside Tinara Moore, who leads the team’s scoring contribution with 12.8 points per game. A team that combines experience and offensive capacity and that will test the Girona team in a new commitment of maximum demand.
A new challenge in a demanding schedule
SPAR Girona faces the match with little time to recover from the European effort. After playing in Germany on Thursday, the team has traveled directly to Estepona, without going through Girona, to prepare for Saturday’s match. The injuries continue to condition the dynamics of the Girona team, who will have to manage the accumulated physical wear and tear and the short rest time between matches.
Despite the difficulties, the Girona team will seek to compete at the highest level and continue the good feelings left in the EuroCup Women, with the aim of adding a new victory to the LF Endesa.
