Stefi Batlle, corporate director of Bàsquet Girona and director of the Bàsquet Girona Foundation, participated in the 2026 Clubs Congress, organized by the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia (UFEC), with the support of the Department of Sports of the Generalitat of Catalonia. The meeting, held at the Royal Polo Club of Barcelona, brought together professionals and leaders from sports, management, business and administration to address the main future challenges of sports entities.
Batlle was part of the roundtable “Sustainability 360°: How to diversify the economic model without losing the essence”, focused on the different ways to strengthen the financial sustainability of clubs. The debate addressed issues such as sponsorship, public-private partnerships and the exploration of new business models to diversify sources of income and reduce dependence on fees and subsidies.
The session also included the participation of David Paredes, general manager of the Atlètic Terrassa Hockey Club; Aniol Sellabona, councilor for Sports at the Olot City Council, and Èric Jara, head of Legal Services at the UFEC.
Stefi Batlle’s participation has allowed the perspective of Bàsquet Girona to be incorporated into a day dedicated to sharing experiences and knowledge about the management of sports entities. The meeting has highlighted the importance of developing professional structures, exploring new opportunities for collaboration and consolidating economic models that allow clubs to grow and face the challenges of the future without losing their essence.
Under the motto “From daily management to high-performance leadership” , the 2026 Clubs Congress has been conceived as a meeting space to promote professionalization, responsible leadership and sustainability of the Catalan sports fabric.
Bàsquet Girona’s participation in this congress reinforces the club’s presence in spaces for reflection on the management and development of Catalan sport.
