The last weekend of matches ends

The U13, U14, U16, U17 and U18 close the last weekend of the year with official matches, although the U16 will have to face CB Cornellà this Wednesday to decide whether to play in group A or B

U13

The Girona team closed the preliminary phase with a 42-40 victory over CB L’Hospitalet 2004 in a very even match between the two teams and in which the Girona team dominated the score at half-time (17-15). In the second half, the U13s gained a seven-point advantage, but the visitors did not stop fighting and this resulted in an even end despite the final triumph of the Escola Básquet Girona Marc Gasol.  

U14

The team led by Arnau Sacot and Sergi Juanola prevailed 45-83 in their visit to the CB Vic – Universitat de Vic 1 court. A match in which the Girona dominated from the start and were able to extend the lead gradually. In this way, the U14s finish in second place in group 6 of the preliminary phase of the Men’s Territorial Championship level A.

U16

The Girona players obtained a result of 78-56 against Catalana Occident Manresa A. The U16s went to the break with a score of 48-21, a difference they were able to reduce in the second half but not match it. The U16s finish the preliminary phase in penultimate position and will play this Wednesday in Olost the match against CB Cornellà A that will decide whether Escola Bàsquet Girona Marc Gasol remains in what will be group A or is placed in group B.  

U17

Triumph of the team led by Quim Gala and Conrad Barris in their trip to the UE Mataró track by a tight 74-76 in a match in which the Girona lost by sixteen points at the beginning of the second quarter. The constancy and effort of the U17 served to overturn the scoreboard and obtain the victory in an even end. In this way, the U17s close the year undefeated after thirteen contested days.  

U18

The U18s played the last official match of 2016 with a hard-fought victory against Aracena – CB Sant Josep B, a team that came to Montfalgars as leaders and undefeated. With the 63-51 victory, Escola Bàsquet Girona Marc Gasol is now the new leader of Junior Interterritorial tied with the Badalonins and CE Sant Nicolau 1, all three with only one loss.
