The performance outside, the pending subject

The senior of Básquet Girona enters the last five days in the CA group of the EBA League. Third with a 14-7 record, it visits the Coalci CB Sant Josep track on Saturday (6 p.m.) in search of a victory that will reaffirm it in this position and allow it to still aspire to higher heights in the remainder of the season. Away from Fontajau, however, the team led by Quim Costa has not been at ease lately and has lost the last four games there.

Despite the clarity in the first round matchup -82-66, with 22 points from Xavi Costa and 15/29 local three-pointers-, the Badalón team has been growing and progressing in the standings, and they are now only a triumph for Girona. They are especially reliable on their home court (7-3), although they have lost three of their last four games in front of their home fans. Of course, against Aracena AEC Collblanc (-10), Vive El Masnou Basketball (-7) and Club Bàsquet Menorca (-6). Among his most identifying traits, the 77.1 points scored (second best attack of the group) and the threat of the offensive rebound (11.8 catches on average) stand out. Gerard Blat, who was not at Fontajau due to injury, is the leading scorer for Sergi Vives, with 15.5 points. The American William Truss (11.7 points and 8.9 rebounds), who missed the last game due to physical problems, also stands out.
