The senior of Basketball Girona has returned empty-handed from Sant Adrià de Besòs. This afternoon, he ended up falling on the court of a needy rival, who has impressed a lot of intensity in his game to cut his negative streak of results. The 74-67 defeat removes the team led by Quim Costa from the first two places, but third place is consolidated, with 13-6.

Although equality predominated in the early stages of the game, the Girona team acquired a small advantage at the end of the first quarter (13-17). From the second, however, the decoration has changed and the mistake in the outside shot ended up penalizing the team, which went to the dressing room at halftime already trailing (-6). The dynamic remained unchanged in the third quarter, without Básquet Girona finding rhythm or clairvoyance to reverse the situation. He found it during the last quarter, when they were drawing close (60-49, 32′), which allowed him to make a triple with 63-60 to tie with less than two minutes to play. It didn’t go in and OIC-Penta UB Sant Adrià managed to hold on for a victory that keeps them out of the danger zone.  

Next week, the senior will play away from Fontajau again. He will do it on Saturday March 10 (7:45 p.m.) at Arenys Básquet Joventut, the club affiliated with La Penya.
