Básquet Girona lost at the Bilbao Arena in a match that failed to close in the final minutes (80-74). In the first period, the game went back and forth on the scoreboard in which the Basque team took the first advantage. In the second, the team from Girona tipped the scales from the triple, with two consecutive goals from Mindaugas Susinskas and one from Juani Marcos, which put the score at +12 (27-39). A partial 7-1 allowed Bilbao to cut back.

In the second half, a 12-5 run leveled the scores and, once the Basques took the lead, they dominated until the end. The situation on the track and in the electronics was balanced, and more so when Yves Pons hit a triple that put his team -2. However, the home team was better in both hoops and took the victory (80-74).

Statements after the match:

Salva Camps: “The match had two sides, one for each side. In the first, although we didn’t go out with the intensity we wanted, we adjusted things and found the rhythm we wanted. And a second one, in which there were two key factors: Bilbao’s greater defensive dynamism and the rival’s greater rebounding activity.”
