Visit to Gipuzkoa

The team travels to San Sebastián in the last game before the international break

| Saturday, 20 November 2021

Bàsquet Girona will face Guipúzcoa Basket for the first time this Sunday (6:00 p.m.) at the Illunbe in Sant Sebastià. The Basque team, founded in 2001, has twelve seasons in its history competing in the highest category of state basketball. Guipúscoa is one of the six teams with a record of four wins and four losses.

Lorenzo Encinas, a native of San Sebastian, has taken over the reins of the Basque team after being the assistant coach of Bilbao Basket for the past two seasons. Xabi Oroz and Mikel Motos are the only two pieces that have had continuity in the team after ACB’s relegation. From Guipúzcoa, the external scoring of Benjamin Simons and the internal intimidation of Domagoj Proleta stand out.

Prior declarations:

Jordi Sargatal: “The team worked very well. We focused on the group and the things we could improve. We are happy with how the week went and to be able to arrive on Sunday with the maximum guarantees of competing.”

Éric Vila: “I always think that we are close to victory if we compete at the highest level. I think that the line is good and therefore we have to keep doing what we are doing because we know that eventually the victories will come if we continue to do a good job. “
