"We want to have the people of Girona close by"

The general manager, Jordi Pujol, highlights the desire for the fan to support the senior in Fontajau at LEB Plata, with economic prices in the membership campaign

Básquet Girona started its first membership campaign three weeks ago, coinciding with the open door training of the seniors with the presence of the president of the club, Marc Gasol. The general manager, Jordi Pujol, assesses its operation in these first days.  

-How is the membership campaign being received?

“Really good. The fans tell us their excitement when they come to the offices to sign up. Some even tell us that, with the disappearance of CB Girona, they passed in football and now they are regulars in Montilivi, but they really want to be able to come to Fontajau as well. And, if possible, keeping their seat from then.” 

-Has the category jump, from EBA to LEB Plata, activated the fan?

“It is an incentive, but we have also opted for a very economical price policy to encourage this public attendance in the senior matches. Not counting the ‘play-off’,  there are 17 home games this season and the basic price is 60 euros, with the possibility of applying different discounts. And what’s more, every fan will have their own fixed seat.”

-There are discounts for fans of Spar Citylift Girona and also of Girona FC. 

“The main intention of the prices is to be close to the people of Girona. We have analyzed the city’s sports offer, also trying to be close to other entities and create positive synergies for everyone. We know that, if the “fan makes an effort to belong to an organization, things must be made easy for them so they can join other projects”.

-What will Fontajau fans find there?

“What we want is for him to enjoy the team’s game and everything that happens during the game. We think that our regular time, Saturdays at seven, is a good time to go with the family because the next day there is no school. There will even be a children’s area so that the little ones can play there and many more surprises that, little by little, will be explained.”
