Girona Basketball takes a historic step in its sporting career with its first participation in the Qianjiang Century City International Basketball Summit 2024, in Hangzhou (China ). This event marks a before and after for the club, not only in the sporting field, which will be an opportunity to compete in conditions of fatigue and jet lag, but also to expand the brand globally.
The participation of Bàsquet Girona in this tournament represents a challenge since for the majority of the squad it will be their first international experience and essential for the growth of the club. This opportunity contributes to the strengthening of the team as a group in terms of coexistence, improving synergies on and off the court and their confidence to face new challenges.
Participating in a tournament in China, a strategic market in the world of sports, represents a unique opportunity for Bàsquet Girona to increase its visibility beyond European borders and establish links with new fans and communities in Asia. Bàsquet Girona ‘s presence on an international stage reinforces its commitment to sports expansion and, at the same time, gives visibility to our initiatives with a global impact.
The travel plan for this concentration begins today with the flight from Barcelona to Beijing with a route connecting Beijing and Hangzhou. The Girona team will play two matches at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Gym. The first match will be played on Saturday, August 31 at 1:30 p.m., *Catalan time, against the Zhejiang Lions , and the second, against FC Barcelona , on September 2 at 1 p.m., *Catalan time . Apart from the matches, the stage will have training sessions, as well as promotional events. The team will leave Hangzhou on the night of September 3rd to arrive in Girona at noon on September 4th.
Básquet Girona faces this challenge with the determination to continue growing, both on and off the court, and to make the most of this unique opportunity to continue promoting the sports and business project.
