Next Monday, August 14, Básquet Girona will begin training to begin the start-up for the club’s second season in the ACB. The squad, which this year will be led by Salva Camps, will have 7 new faces (Đorđević, Marcos, Iroegbu, Brown, Pons, Martínez and Sušinskas), who are added to the players already present last season (Sorolla, Vila, Fjellerup and Columbus).
This week it is serving the players to acclimatize to the city of Girona and carry out the relevant medical examinations, with the support of FIATC, the main partner of Basketball Girona, at the Diagonal Clinic, located in Esplugues de Llobregat.
Monday was Jaume Sorolla’s turn, and today it was the case of two newcomers: Stefan Đorđević and Sergi Martínez. Đorđević, a 206 cm Serbian center, arrives at Fontajau from Igokea of the Adriatic League and has commented that it is a big step for his career: “I am looking to compete at my best in one of the main European leagues. This motivates me to keep working and be ready for the next season. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team, the fans and Fontajau.“
For his part, Sergi Martínez knows the league well, as he has played the last 4 seasons with Barça and arrives on loan from the Blaugrana team.
