Official presentation of the new additions to the FIATC Girona

FIATC Girona officially presented the new additions to the squad for the 2026-27 season yesterday. The new players and the sports management shared their first impressions before starting the pre-season work.

The sports director, Fernando San Emeterio, positively assessed the composition of the group, explaining that “we have a versatile squad with good physical strength. There are players who are unfamiliar with the league and this will require adaptation, but we are satisfied.”

During the media briefing, point guard Stanley Whittaker described his arrival at the club as a very special step: “It’s a surreal feeling to be here. I’ve had to work for everything I’ve achieved and being in Girona and playing in the ACB is a dream I’ve always had. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of this opportunity”. For his part, youngster Isaac Vázquez explained the reason for his decision, stressing that “I choose Girona because of the trust they give me, they are the first to bet on me”.

The new faces of the team agreed to highlight the good reception they have received in the city and the club. The latest to join, Mac McClung , commented that “so far it has been great. I have only been here for a short time, but the atmosphere and the teammates have helped me a lot. I like everything I have seen of the city and I have found it to be a very welcoming environment”. Along the same lines, Andrzej Pluta pointed out that “the city is beautiful, the feeling is very familiar and the club is very professional; we are very eager to get started”, while center David N’Guessan stated that “so far it has gone very well, I am excited to get everything going, meet the fans and start the season”.

Finally, winger Aljaž Kunc highlighted the human factor at FIATC Girona, highlighting that “the people around the club, from Moncho to the people in the office, everyone has been great with us. I think we have the feeling that everyone outside is excited, we want to improve and build every day.”

With the squad already integrated, FIATC Girona continues to complete training sessions in Fontajau under the orders of Moncho Fernández to get ready for the first preparation commitments.
