The coach signs for another season

Bàsquet Girona has closed the renewal of Roberto Íñiguez for the Spar Girona team. The Basque coach will continue at the head of the bench after qualifying the team for the EuroLeague Women and signing a great 2024-2025 season, in which Spar Girona has exhibited one of the most solvent and recognizable games in the league.

With over a decade on the bench of some of the best clubs on the continent, Íñiguez is a leading figure in Europe. He has managed teams such as Ros Casares Valencia, Fenerbahçe Istanbul, Nadezhda Orenburg, Sopron Basket, Dynamo Kursk, Perfumerías Avenida, Çukurova Basketbol and Uni Girona, leaving his mark in all competitions and achieving success wherever he has gone.

Her track record speaks for itself: 1 EuroLeague Women, 4 Spanish Leagues, 1 Spanish Cup and 1 Spanish Super Cup, 1 Turkish League, 2 Turkish President’s Cups, 2 Hungarian Leagues, 1 Hungarian Cup and 1 Russian Cup. In addition, she has played in up to four EuroLeague Women finals and has been recognized as Coach of the Year in several European leagues.

Íñiguez’s continuity represents an important step in the construction of the new Bàsquet Girona project. A shared commitment that seeks to strengthen elite basketball in the city and that will have the Vitoria coach as a key piece to guarantee stability, ambition and sporting coherence.
