Bàsquet Girona has reached an agreement with forward-center Laeticia Amihere (23 years old, Canada, 1.91m) to temporarily join Spar Girona until the end of December, with the aim of helping the team in this initial stage of competition.

Amihere comes from the Golden State Valkyries of the WNBA, where she played her last season after her time with the Atlanta Dream, the team that selected her at number 8 in the 2023 Draft.

Trained in the NCAA with the University of South Carolina (2019-2023), she managed to win the national championship in 2022. The player is also an international with Canada, defending her country’s jersey in such prominent events as the 2022 World Championship (fourth place), the 2023 Copa America and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Statements from Pere Puig, sports director:
“With the arrival of Laeticia Amihere we cover a little the lack we have in the interior game. Very strong in the rebound and that will surely help us. I also want to remember that she is compatible with Chloe Bibby. They can play together in the LF Endesa. They would be the two players who occupy a non-EU position.”
