Surne Bilbao Basket started the match more intensely and effectively, reaching 15 points shortly after breaking the first half (10-15) with Lazarevic scoring (8 points). However, the Girona team adjusted their defense and achieved a 12-1 run that allowed them to establish a +6 lead. At halftime, Bàsquet Girona went to the locker room with the same advantage but had more control over the score and the pace of the match, with Nikola Maric leading the way in the zone and Pep Busquets showing his most scoring version -10 points and 12 points in the first half- (48-42).

Two decisive runs by Bilbao, one in each quarter, allowed the Basque team to secure victory in a close match in the final stretch. In the third quarter, an initial 3-11 lead put the scoreboard ahead again after many minutes (51-53) and in the final minutes, a 2-11 lead made it 85-87, with which the last two minutes were played. Bilbao’s best scoring performance in the final quarter (31 points in the final period) did not allow the Girona team to win their third consecutive victory despite a determined Otis (89-93).
