Spar Girona draws with Leganés and the ticket to the semifinals will be played in Fontajau

Spar Girona have achieved a hard-fought draw at the home ground of Innova-TSN Leganés (82-82) in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the LF Endesa. After trailing for almost the entire match and having to manage disadvantages of up to seventeen points, Roberto Íñiguez’s team reacted in time, highlighting the final display of Jocyte. With this score, the tie is completely open and will be decided in the return leg in front of the Girona fans.
With Klara leading the Girona attack (5 points), Leganés has become strong near the basket, achieving an initial 14-8 lead and stopping the Íñiguez shock. Spar Girona has increased its defense and Mariam and Klara have responded in attack (16-12). Again, with a triple from Cornelius we came within three points, but Sangare’s free throws put us back at +5 (80-75). Our coach stopped the game to direct the last 2:11 minutes, and Jocyte took full control of the offense, converting three consecutive baskets to tie the game at 82. With this result, Fontajau will decide their passage to the semifinals.
