Whittaker developed in the United States before making the move to European basketball in the 2019/20 season. Throughout his career, he has played in Austria, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Russia and Turkey, representing clubs including Würzburg, Dinamo Sassari and PBC Uralmash.
Last season, he played for Aliaga Petkim Spor in the Turkish league, averaging 13.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. He also competed in the FIBA Europe Cup, where he averaged 10.4 points and 4.8 assists per game.
