Good first minutes for the home team, in which defensive aggression caused Baskonia to only score 2 points in the first four minutes of the game. In the final minutes of the first quarter, the Basque team took a step forward offensively. However, the success of the Girona team allowed them to leave with a 9-point difference (22-13).

The start of the second quarter started with the same dynamics as the first, a very aggressive Bàsquet Girona in its zone kept its basket intact until minute 4. The local team did not lower its intensity in the remainder of the quarter, which caused the Girona team to reach the break with a 20-point lead on the scoreboard (45-25).
