Spar Girona | Wednesday, 10 June 2026

The Endesa Women’s League already has a roadmap for the 2026/27 season. After the last delegated commission of the FEB , the competition calendar, deadlines and some important new regulations have been defined that will mark the day-to-day life of Spar Girona in the top category.

These are the most important dates and changes that you should take into account:

The season calendar

The official competition will begin at the end of September with the Spanish Super Cup, but the highlight of the regular league will arrive in October:

Start of the Regular League: Saturday, October 3, 2026 (Matchday 1).

End of the first round (Cup Cut): Tuesday, December 29, 2026. The top eight teams in this unified round 15 will earn a direct ticket to the Copa de la Reina.

Copa de la Reina: From 25 to 28 March 2027 in Zaragoza.

End of the Regular League: Saturday 17 April 2027 (Day 30).

Playoffs for the title: From April 22 to May 15, 2027 (date of the third match of the final). The competition shortens its finale by one week compared to the previous season.

In addition, the league will be stopped twice for the FIBA selection windows : from November 8 to 18, 2026 and, as a novelty, moving the usual calendar forward one month, from February 7 to 17, 2027.

Regulatory news

The LF Endesa 2026/27 will take a step forward at a competitive and technological level with three very significant changes:

1. Instant Replay is coming: The video review system under study will be implemented in a regulated manner to resolve specific and controversial game situations.

2. New classification system: The classic points system is left behind and the pure balance of wins and losses is used to sort the table, as is done in the ACB or FIBA competitions.

3. Strict criteria for European places (2027/28): Access to the following year’s European competitions will be defined by following the final classification of this year: 1st Champion, 2nd Runner-up, 3rd Third, 4th Cup Champion, 5th Fourth, etc.

    Next steps

Clubs have until Friday, July 3 at 1:00 p.m. to formalize the registration of their teams. Once all the documentation has been validated, the FEB will draw the official calendar so that we can know the order of the matches and when we will experience the big matches in Fontajau.
