Básquet Girona was unable to overcome Unicaja Málaga after a match in which they were able to maintain the lead for most of the match. After the initial 7-0, the team from Girona was able to extend the positive difference during the first half, finding free shots and preventing the Málaga team from balancing the balance. Even though the rival got within three points, at the break Girona led by +11 (48-37).

Despite increasing the advantage to +17 (57-40), Málaga managed to reverse the situation from the defense and run on the counter-attack, to reach four points. In the last quarter, they finally managed to come back, but Girona did not give up. The key was in the last two minutes when Girona went +3 and Málaga took advantage of a home loss to put themselves ahead. In the final scrum, Girona failed to find the right shot and lost (78-82).
