FIATC Girona has officially kicked off the 2026/27 pre-season today with the first training session on the pitch at the Fontajau pavilion. After the relevant medical checks and physical tests, the team has begun working under the orders of Moncho Fernández and his coaching staff.
In this first session, the Galician coach had ten of the eleven players who currently make up the squad: David N’Guessan, Aljaž Kunc, Isaac Vázquez, Stanley Whittaker, Andrzej Pluta, Maxi Fjellerup, Pep Busquets, Martinas Geben, Sergi Martínez and Nikola Maric.
The group has completed the first day of work with the aim of starting to lay the foundations for a demanding season, in which FIATC Girona will face, in addition to the domestic competition, the challenge of playing in a European competition for the first time, the FIBA Europe Cup.
In the coming days, Mac McClung will join the group and begin working with his new teammates. This way, Moncho Fernández will be able to count on the entire squad to continue advancing the team’s physical and tactical preparation.
