A historical milestone with a Girona accent

Girona U18 Basketball will compete in the Spanish Men's Championships for the first time, and will do so with a team that reflects the talent and work of the entire region.

The team led by Xavi Rosselló travels to Huelva with the excitement of competing on a national stage that is unprecedented for the club. This is a historic moment: Bàsquet Girona has never before participated in this championship in the U18 men’s category.

The Girona team has been placed in a very high-level group, where they will face teams such as Real Madrid Baloncesto, Unicaja Málaga and Casademont Zaragoza.

Beyond the sporting challenge, this classification has a special value: the squad is mostly made up of players who have trained in clubs in the province. Some have completed their entire career, from children’s to junior, within Bàsquet Girona itself; others have grown up in leading entities in the territory before joining the club.

Among these clubs we find CB Blanes, CB Farners, Adepaf Figueres, BC Maçanet, CB Sant Gregori, CB Sant Narcís, UE Cellera Amer, CB Olot, La Salle Palamós, CE Palamós, CEB Girona and Col·legi Masmitjà. A training network that demonstrates the strength of Girona basketball.

This debut in the Spanish Championships is not only a milestone for the club, but also a recognition of the joint work of an entire territory.
